Color Fest 2010

It's that time of year again! As the end of March came and went, so did Color Fest. I was so happy I got to make the long journey to Utah and have a fun weekend with my friends. I don't realize how much I miss them until I have to say goodbye again! We had a lot of fun this year throwing colored powder at random people. This year, we decided to get there a little bit earlier. It was cool to see all of the other things going on this year. Inside the temple, they had food and dancing. Outside they were putting up a photobooth near the entrance. It's always interesting to see all of the people who show up. This year they had 2 events. One was held around 1 pm and the other around 4 pm. I can't wait for next year! As I promised I will be back every year! It's so much fun!

Renissance Festival 2010

A couple of weekends ago, some friends from work and I went to the annual Renissance Festival. It was a lot of fun! We got our faces painted, watched a joust, ate turkey legs, and saw some rediculous people! It was awesome!

Out Of Africa

Last weekend, some friends from work & I took a trip to the Out of Africa Wildlife Preserve in Camp Verde. Although it was rainy and cold the WHOLE time, it was A LOT of fun!!! We got to see all of the animals up close! They would walk right up to the fence and let you take pictures of them.

Before we went to Out of Africa, we had all printed out pictures of animals and colored them. We then made it a point to take a picture, with our picture and designated animal! haha!

When we first arrived, there weren't very many people. Actually, we were one of the first groups to arrive. Which was nice because there were no lines for to pay or to ride the tram around. Because we were some of the first people to arrive, we were able to be the first group to take a safari tour.

The Safari Tour was so awesome! When we got onto the bus, they gave us a carrot to feed the Giraffe. The Giraffe came right up to the bus and suck its head in. Haha! I was so scared. I fed it my carrot and was freaking out! ha! My friend Matt put the carrot in his mouth and let the giraffe eat it out! Gross...but AWESOME! We also go to see zebras, antelope, a camel, and some goats. All in all it was a pretty cool experience.

After the tour, we walked around the park. We saw plenty of tigers, a rhino, lions, wolves, bears, and tons of other animals.

Before we left, we watched the Tiger Splash show. While at the show, Sharon & I got "marked" by a tiger! Yup...that's right...we are now owned by a tiger :( haha! The show was pretty neat. Mostly just watching huge tigers chase people holding objects and jumping into a heated pool. haha!

Extreme Weather...

So this whole week it has been raining on and off...but mostly on. Today has been the worst! There is even a tornado watch on the area of Arizona that I live in! Crazy!

Other than the weather, I have been doing well. I went to my follow up doctors appointment for my ankle today and everything is looking good. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, I sprained my ankle so bad in Mexico that they were possibly going to need to do surgery to rebuild the ligiments on the outside because I had completely torn them off. I still have to wear my brace for the next few weeks but should be back in tip top shape within a month...fingers crossed!

Welp...that's all for now!

Steph's Wedding

Well it is official, Stephanie is now a married woman! Her and Cody tied the knot on the baseball field January 8, 2010! I was able to go back to St. George for a couple of days to be there. It was a very unique idea for a wedding and very tastefully done. Following the Ceremony, there was a Luncheon held just outside the baseball field where they served pretzels w/ cheese, mini hot dogs, and mini hamburgers. After the Luncheon, they took a break to get some pictures before the sun went down and at 4:00 the Reception started. There was the usual cake cutting, garter toss, dancing, and random photo shoot by my friends and I...haha! Around 6:00 we sent them off to their honeymoon in Hawaii!!! Congrats Steph!

Christmas!!

This year for Christmas, I went to my parents house. Me and Marty made the journey up there Christmas Eve Morning. I got out to my parents just in time for dinner. My mom made chicken, veggies, and baked potatoes! It was delicious. We followed the usually tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve. After the present opening, I decided to go to sleep since it had been a long day.

On Christmas, we woke up around 9 and opened presents. My dad was the one who got spoiled this year...I'm pretty sure he got everything on his list. I got a cook book and a couple of other things. I was really excited about the cook book since I like to cook! My mom got some delicious chocolates, a jacket and rice cooker/steamer thing.

That afternoon, we went down to St. George for our family Christmas Dinner. I got to see my newest cousin and we watched some old Christmas videos from when I was 14! Haha! They were pretty entertaining. After eating, we headed back to my parents house to watch my two nephews open their presents. They got A LOT of clothes and some cool toys.

All in all it was a good trip. I wish I could've stayed longer to visit more people but I couldn't take work off. Hopefully next year I will be able to. I was just glad to spend the time with my family.
