Thankful Thursday...

I've been meaning to post this for a while now but haven't had the time to sit down and write it. Lately I've been thinking about all the things I have been blessed with and how lucky I am to be where I am in my life today. I have A LOT of things to be thankful for but most of the time I dwell on all the things that seem to go wrong.

My job!...I recently switched positions at work (with high hopes it is a permanent position by December) and love the team I am a part of.

Embree...she may be a pill some most of the time! But I could never EVER give her up. She challenges me daily but makes up for it with all her cuddles at night.

My husband...I don't think I could ever tell him enough how much he means to me! I am so grateful that I found a person who understands me and loves me just the way I am, flaws and all!

My friends...they are the family I got to pick!! I don't know where I would be with out them. These girls have been through thick and thin with me and after 6+ years I couldn't have asked for better women to be examples for me! I love them all more than I could ever express and I can't wait to see some of them in June!

My ability to learn and ambition to succeed...I am grateful that I was able to finally graduate and move on to a career. I am grateful that I am a quick learner and have an amazing memory.

My family...my parents and siblings have always been a strong support system for me (even if they don't know it). I thankful for the good examples they are to me.

My bonus family...I couldn't have asked for a better family to marry in to! Being far from my family and friends is VERY hard at times but knowing I have people who love and support me as if I were their own means a lot to me!

My health...even though I am not my ideal weight, I am grateful that I don't have any medical conditions.

Embree Passed...

Last night Embree took her CGC test and she PASSED!! We knew she would do well on pretty much everything but were a little worried that she wouldn't be able to contain herself when it came to the part of the test where the instructor tried to pet her. That is her only weak area but she was able to keep it together long enough!

The CGC is a basic obedience test that dogs can take. They receive a certificate at the end. If we want, we can now continue on training her to do agility courses or even becoming a care dog. For now, we are a little burnt out on training classes. We went for pretty much 18 weeks straight so we are going to give it a little break.

In other news, I finally got my passport! So that means we are all set for our Honeymoon next month!!! EEEEEKKKKK! I'm so excited!

Embree: 6 Months(ish)...

Embree is about 6 months now. I still can't believe how big she has gotten since the day we brought her home. She is still very energetic and driving us crazy most of the time, but we wouldn't have it any other way. In two weeks she will complete her advanced training class. For the most part she has excelled in every area....except getting overly excited when people want to pet her. If she's able to control that during her test, it will be a miracle!

Puppy Graduation....

Last week Embree graduated from her puppy training class. It was so cute! They put a hat on her and everything....I was surprised she didn't rip it off! She starts her next round of training next week. I'm excited to see what she will be learning. She has already lost several of her puppy teeth and is starting to get her adult set....which has been tons of fun...NOT!!! She wants to chew on EVERYTHING! I can't wait for this stage to be over.

Puppy Love...

I can't believe how fast Embree is growing! Next week she graduates her puppy training class and gets to move onto intermediate. Although she is a bit ADD when we take her to class, she is learning so much and improving everyday. The other day I was looking at pictures from the day we brought her home and she has gotten so much bigger since then. I can't wait until she is full grown and we can go on morning runs together.

Puppy Training...

We've only had Embree for 5 days and she is already ok with sleeping in her crate. The first two days/nights were pretty hard. Every time we would put her in there, she would whine, bark, howl, etc. After reading several articles online and talking to people we knew, they all said the same thing....leave her in there! I'll admit the first two nights I thought "How are we going to deal with this? Our neighbors are going to hate us!" She eventually got used to being in there alone (I also started giving her a treat to calm her down) and last night, she just moseyed on in when she was ready for bed. She only woke up once last night to go potty and didn't give me any trouble when I put her back in to go to sleep. Hopefully she will continue to do well. Today is the first day she will be left completely alone while Matthew and I are at work.

...A New Addition...

That's right....the Renfro family is expanding!

Oh wait...I better explain myself   :)

We adopted a puppy this past weekend!!! I know you were all thinking we were having a kid....look for that in a few years :) haha! Anyways, Embree is a German Shepherd/Lab mix. We rescued her from the Arizona Humane Society. She is only two months old and still has a lot to learn. Other than leaving both Matthew and I sleep deprived, we are absolutely in LOVE with her. We are still adjusting to this lifestyle change but can't wait to watch her grow and learn.
